They have put more of the purple goo on it. But You can still see some corrosion.

I cannot believe that I will out of pocket buy a new battery. I am going to buy a optima blue top. Like a 170 bucks I dont need to spend.

That is the part I would want replaced.

I also would want this replaced, but I'd probably be more willing to eat the cost of a new battery.

Good luck with everything!

I don't want to beat a dead horse to death, but perhaps you should contact Deysha again before you buy the battery. The cables and the battery should be replaced under warranty.

I am at a loss to understand the dealers' thinking here. It certainly is no cost to him, and Ford should readily agree to do this simply based on your photos.

Best of luck..

1- the battery is not failing a charge test. So there technically is no need to replace it.
2- cables will only be changed if the corrosion makes it down the wires.
3- dealer doesn't get to decide if the parts get replaced.

I agree the dealer does not make the decision, but his input carries some weight. As for the battery not failing the charge test, that's wonderful, but what about the second round of corrosion, after his first visit. This would be an indicator something is wrong. As far as the cables, again, a customer service issue...it is a brand new car. Replace the cables and battery as a "good will" gesture. A happy customer, is a returning customer.

I had a dealer take a car back the day after we bought it, due to acid rain spots in the paint. He then found another one just like it, had it shipped to his dealership, and did an even exchange. The replacement car had a CD player, which the original did not. He told us there would be no extra costs involved and the CD player was his way of saying he was sorry for our trouble. And, we kept the first car until the new one arrived. That was in 1990. We have bought 11 cars from him since then. We even drove back from Dallas, on vacation, and were in getting our free lifetime oil change (didn't matter we had moved) and ended up buying another Grand Cherokee from him. Since we moved back, in 2007, we have bought two new VW Passats from him.

One "good will" gesture can result in a customer for life.

The shop is only allowed to eat a certain amount of cost. Have you seen the cost of cables and labor to install them?? Its not cheap at all.

Whatever it costs, I guarantee you its a hell of a lot cheaper than losing a customer that buys a new car every year like Adrian does.

True. I buy 1.5 cars a year because the wife gets on every other year. She is fighting me on replacing the five hundred because she likes it so much.

So when I picked the car up the other day. We had a dust storm and the car was out side. They had waxed the car to say sorry for all of this. I get the cali duster out today to clean off the dust before I go leaning on the car because im careful like that and both of my fenders have paint burn from being over buffed. With lot of fine swirl scratchs all down both sides of the car. Plus the purple goo is now every where and the white corrosion is well the pictures from today will say alot....The painted cover after further inspection is well.. pics will tell more fo the story..

heres some phone and camera pics.

I would call the district manager and also get in touch with Dyesa. You didn't ask them to screw your car up by putting a buffer on it. looks like a buncha noobs did that ****. I never ever let a dealership buff, wax or even wash my cars. Raise hell

I always tell them not to wash my car. I would of asked for a free oil change or something. They took it back and used some glass polymer. It helped but it just made the scratches stand out more on the black.

Glass Polymer? Sounds like something that is used to cover up swirls, not fix them. I would not have let them touch my car as far as detailing goes after the swirl marks. That being said, I could fix the swirls properly and any competent detailer can as well. I would try to get them to pay for a real detailer to polish out the swirls or I would invest in a polisher and learn to fix them yourself since black cars will develop and show swirls worse than any color over time. When I bought my Kona Boss up, I forgot to tell them not to wash the car and had to do some minor paint correction to fix what the detailing community calls "dealer installed swirls."

Oh, I do think Ford should replace you battery and cables. A car this new should not be having problems with battery corrosion.

I agree but it doesnt mean a thing sine they are not willing to replace the battery and they acted like I was out of my mind when I asked about the leads. They also acted like I did the paint damage or something. I mean I am the guy thats told "do not wash my car". I told them after my car had the battery acid sprayed all over my engien back not to touch and that I would take it down to dannys or something and pay to have it done.

I have done alot of business with this dealer.. Me and my nephew are buying matching Fiesta ST's when they hit. He told me last night maybe we should not buy them from Bell Ford because his pissed about my car. My coworkers seen my car last night and were very pissed and asked how I am staying so calm.. I told them I do alot fo business at Bell Ford here in Phoenix AZ and it would suck to have to find a new dealer.

I am pretty much at the point of not being angry but just not caring. I just want a new car now. My New and nearly $40,000 car has become a pain and chore. I have wasted about 2 tanks of gas driving two the dealer and what they have used to work on my car.

Because they don't want to pay out of their pocket for something they did. At least that is what I would conclude...

While that shows your character, the fact that they induced mess shows carelessness, unless I misunderstand who did what.

I generally separate the "buying process" from the "service process". The general manager or owner would be hearing from me about my dissatisfaction if this was my vehicle. Again, I think one can express unhappiness without being rude or obnoxious in tone and words chosen.

Ultimately only you can judge what is best for your situation - accepting the current state of your car, taking the time to press the owner, or accepting the service practices of a dealership where the sales practices might be better.

Good luck!

I think if you can stick with getting several more parts corrected, it will be better. I feel for you, as I have just had three trips to a dealer for the correction of one problem.

Its aggravating. I took my car back to the dealer (hour away) because of swirls and they "brought in their best guy". Kid in his twenties and he did a fantastic job - not a swirl!

So a year later I got keyed, took it to the local "best body shop in town". They did a good job on the paint but not on the finish. Tried twice but still had swirls.

So I set an appointment with the dealer again and paid for them to remove the swirls. Think it was $99 for detail. Brought in the same kid. Only this time he left swirls. I complained and the guy showed me how all the new cars off the truck have some swirls. I left in disgust.

I wonder if they've figured out why I haven't been back for oil changes or anything else in 2 years.
