that reading just in "in addition" to whatever the tune has.
Nothing to do with the timing in the actual tune.
Also brenspeed wouldn't allow you to advance it anyway only retard it if you need to (bad gas, wrong octane, 120* outside etc...)

Bad tune, broke #8, out 6+g for new build and joining the ever growing club is what it's sounding like.

ETA of course that is unless Breenspeed wants to pay for it.

OP, sorry to hear about your problems. hope it ends well for you.

Does anyone yet confirmed this issue is only after-market tuned cars? Any Boss motors with this issue?

What were you doing before the failure? Anything out of the ordinary before the engine failed? Been to the track, any 'spirited driving' etc?

you can buy a built short block for less than the dealer will fix what you have. look at the vendors on this site. the install should be less than 1k.

you wont know for sure till you do a compression test, but the plug says not so good.

when was the brenspeed tune done?

beers

Looking at that plug it's definitely a broken #8 piston

Every time I see one of these threads I get nervous that one of these days mine will just randomly decide to do this :/.

unas2k5, You are seriously overdue for some good luck... What a pisser. Thanks for sharing your pics and experience. You're adding greatly to our collective understanding of this problem... sorry that it's at your expense though! Good luck.

I'm telling you guys- you can get used to the stock tune again. I have been running mine stock for the past 1000 miles and I have already forgotten how much better it ran with the Bama tune!

Wow... very nice to know this option is out there. Thanks for the link...at $7k, that would be an excellent value.

How much does a lightly used stock motor sell for (with 8 working pistons)?

IMO this is what Ford should have put in the Mustang from day one! At least make it an option to have the forged motor, I would have no problem paying extra for it.

Are you listening Ford ?!
