Wall to Wall Carpeting

Wall to Wall Carpeting
2013 GT-Premium 6MT,
I was thinking of extending the carpet all the way up in the front of of the interior floor by the pedals and also the passenger seat area.
Is their a reason why Ford and I guess most car mfrs. leave all this space
without carpet installed that I am missing the point, besides maybe saving money thinking nobody can see that area? ONLY I see it and the unsightly area always bothers every time I look at it (yeah I know, so don't look at it). Very cheap on the mfrs. part if it's just to save a few bucks and the interior looks unfinished. You look down at the chrome racing style pedals, only to see sound deadening insulation, Crap
So I was going to buy some auto interior carpet from the auto store to finish this area (yes again, I have some OCD and I am just a bit ****), but just can't stand looking at anymore.
I also have a huge gap on the right side of the steering wheel that meets the dash panel and the left side is nice and tight and looks great (another pet peeve). Can't solve that problem though! That's off my topic, SORRY!
Does Ford leave this area without carpet for a technical reason?
Thanks,

Got any pics? I have never noticed anything of the sort.
Edit: I just went out and looked, and yes there is a bit of a space where I think you are talking about. Can't see it at all unless you look up under the dash though.

Wow, my carpet only goes just past the top of the gas pedal. All you have to do is bend your head down a little to see the unfinished area without the black carpeting. That's alright guys, I will figure it out and try to find a close match and install more carpeting to cover the area. For me personally, it's just an eyesore and feel it should be totally carpeted from the factory. To save on a lousy foot of carpeting by Ford, SAD!
Thanks for all you inputs,
