"Torque" Android App on Android Radios?
"Torque" Android App on Android Radios?
I apologize in advance if this is a dumb idea / question. I really haven't had time to research it so I thought I'd throw it out to the community.
Is it possible to load new apps, such as "Torque" on the newer Android-powered CD/DVD/Nav/big screen radios? Kenwood DNN990HD might be a candidate although I haven't had time to read the user's manual.
"Torque" does all the things that Maestro+Kenwood and Track Apps do and more.
Might be a solution to get (useful) gauges and track apps type functionality for those of us with '12 and earlier and base radios.
Let me have it if I've said something dumb here! But usually more heads are better than one.

Never mind. Sorry I wasted your time.
After doing a scan of the Kenwood DNN990HD users manual it's pretty clear at this point to me that there is no capability to load additional Android apps on the unit.
At $1100 to $1200 I expected there would be some capability in this unit, but I was wrong. It can't do what even the most basic smart-phone can do. That's a shame.
This really isn't that hard if you're already running on Android.
If anyone knows different, or knows of a HU that can load additional Android apps please let me know.

Not compatible with the maestro unit. But if you buy a cheap Bluetooth obd2 on amazon you can mirror torque on the unit. Plenty of of videos online of you want to check it out.
