No ... I bought The Samsung Tab 7 ... WIFI only but the key is that is has a built in GPS Chip.

The COPILOT software is self-contained Navigation software and includes the entire USA maps for $5. 1.6GB download.

While sitting in my garage, McD's, etc .... I have WIFI access to download apps, surf the web, etc, etc ....

I do have an Iphone 4 ... so if I ever felt like spending the money on the plan I could setup a HotSpot with the iPhone and then use WIFI to the iPhone to connect of 3G and have internet access everywhere .. like for Pandora.

For now I just loaded 6GB of MP3's on the Tablet.

That's pretty awesome! A step by step guide would catapult you into legendary status.

I have a question, how do you tune for Sirus or FM radio stations that are not in your presets? Say if you went to another city and wanted to try their FM stations out. I haven't figured out how to do that with the steering wheel controls. And also, how do you remove it in 60 seconds?

For all of those looking at this thread ... this ONLY WORKS on PREMIUM cars ... you need Steering Wheel Radio Controls and BLUETOOTH.

You can use the arrow buttons on your steering wheel to tune or seek stations up and down when in FM mode. Quick press of arrow goes through presets. HOLD down arrow and it will Seek. I don't have Sirius so cannot comment on that.

60 seconds? Pull up on console center insert and it pops out. Then Pop out the entire center control panel section (one wire harness to disconnect and it's out of the car). I could actually do it in 30 seconds if you were timing me! The FIRST time you will need to remove two small bolts at the bottom of the control panel. You do not need to put them back in. So the first time will take a few minutes to remove the bolts.

Now this is NOT 100% perfect. The ONLY way to set the clock is via the missing buttons. Presets, Bluetooth devices, etc ... are kept if battery is removed. I think EVERYTHING except clock is kept unless battery is removed. Would me nice if Ford could pull the time from Sirius.

I plan on keeping my original control panel so I have it for future programming of the clock or whatever else I may need it for. I would not recommend using your original panel to do this just for this reason.

Because I don't have the Electronics Package and don't like the look of the Metra (or soon to be Scosche) units. This ended up costing me $325 for the Galaxy Tab and $100 for the spare control panel.

OK ... I picked up an 8GB SD card and installed it. That pumps the Tab up to 24GB .. plenty for Apps and Music.

Here are some pics I took while I had it out. The Black Bezel is 3M taped to the front of panel to give it a nice clean look. I THINK it came with an AVIC-D3 I had a long time ago. I found it in a bag I had of radio install stuff from my 2006 Mustang.

The dash panel is trimmed leaving enough plastic to hold the Tablet in on the top and bottom. The Tab is not quite as wide as the openings already in the panel. You can also see where I trimmed away some plastic ribbing on the right side of the panel for the dock/power connector.

The Tab is basically trapped between the Circuit Board and the Front Panel when it is installed. The circuit board and buttons screw to the front panel to hold it all together. I also placed a piece of cardboard between the face of CD Player/HU and the back of the circuit board when I installed it. This keeps everything together tighter when it's installed since I had to remove many of the factory screw points.

I covered it all with electrical tape to:

1) protect the board
2) Cover the many blinding LED's that may have bleed light around the sides of the Tab.

I just drilled a hole for the power button .. I have also trimmed it down and made it shorter.

The only connection I made was to the Sync USB port. I unclipped the Sync USB port from inside the console and made the connection under the console behind the shifter.

Nice! I wish the circuit board could be modified or replaced with another one to only include controls for the a/c so we could keep the factory a/c and then install an aftermarket double din stereo. If an aftermarket double din stereo is installed then there will be no need for the top factory screen except for the outside temperaure display.

The guy that put it in his 05-09 was 5th stang. Haven't seen him on here in a while, but I'm still considering doing something based on his design. I loved the looks of the controls being moved to the overhead.

Pretty sure he installled the iPad and the overhead console in a 2010+ Mustang as well .. not a 2005-2009.

I have an iPhone 4. I can add a personal hotspot option to my AT&T plan if I ever feel the need for 3G.
