Can anyone make a comparison between the sound on these two systems? I had the Mach in my '01 and it was quite adequate for my needs. I assumed the Shaker would at least be on par with it but was curious what people who have listened to both think.

Well the shaker system is a lil bit more powerful compared to the mach, and the speakers & subs are newer as well so they are going to perform better too. The shaker gets the job done

I disagree... Mach 460 is better... sounds, placement of speakers, overall acoustics... I had the Mach 460, Shaker 500 and have the Shaker 1000. The latter two are average at best. That being said, if you are trying to decide between the Shaker 500 and 1000. Save your money and go with the 500. The difference is negligible.

 

I drive the 460 for 10 years and now have the 500. In my opinion they are about equal. Note that I had a vert with the 460 and a coupe with the 500 though.

I have a 95 Vert with the Mach 460. Drove with it for about 7 years. Note about y'all need to know is I am completely deaf in my left ear. I can't hear anything on that side of me. My 11 has the Shaker 500, it's light years better. I know it's not right to compare my new to the 16 yr old car, but I am. My buddy had a 10th Ann Termi w/Mach 460, sounded nothing like mine. That's all I can remember, though.
