Just installed Infinity Kappas 682.9 speakers
.....all four speakers. It was an immediate difference. The sound is amazing. It is not so much that it is louder, but rather the breadth of sounds now is more distinct. I can hear the full range of sounds. I listen to classic rock and the best song to test is The Doors Riders on the Storm, which has an amazing range of sounds from the opening bass playing a lead line to the cymbals and rain on the other end of the spectrum. I angled the tweeters in the front toward the A-pillars and chose the lower adjustment on the frequency ( -3db instead of 0db) to help with any potential harshness that some complained of in this forum. The backs I adjusted to the higher frequency. I also tend to adjust my fade to include the back speakers anyway to create the "surround sound" effect as opposed to the "headphone" effect of just the front the speakers. So this set up works well for me. I can bring more high level tweeter into the sound stage by bringing in more of the back speakers if I want. I also had dynamat installed on both door panels, the plastic panel, to help reduce door vibration from the subwoofer. Not only did it help with vibration, but the doors feel more solid now. One last comment, I chose to pay my local Ford dealer to do the install, which cost me more than a aftermarket audio store but I wanted a Ford expert to open and close the doors and back seat areas. That way Ford is responsible for any rattles or problems caused by the install, but more important, hopefully less likely to have problems due to their knowledge of the car. Overall I am very pleased with the upgrade.

I bought the speakers for around $150.00 for all four through eBay. I paid Ford $200.00 for the install. Local audio sound dealers wanted $250.00 for the speakers and $100.00 to install. So I actually paid the same total. The Ford audio guy knew the car really well, does their warrenty work. He knew exactly how to take the doors apart, especially the rear area when the seats have to come out. Although he had never put these particular speakers in a Mustang before, he spent a lot of time determining the best way to secure the loose crossovers, the one issue with these speakers. Most people just use double sided tape, but found a way to secure more permanently. I really felt like he took his time and wanted to do a great job. I also paid $150 for him to provide and install the dynamat on the inside of both doors. That took longer than the speaker install, so for parts and labor I was pleased. I know a lot of people on this site would do it themselves, but this was how I wanted to handle. It feels more like factory to me.

The Infinity's are not strong on bass, but really strong on high end. That is what makes them work so well with the standard set (subs in doors). You might want to do some investigating to be sure.
