I have a base 2011 mustang gt without ambient lighting. I would like the original illuminated sill plates that sell for $189.95 Will the sill plates come with instructions to wire the sill plates?

Do theses protect the painted portion? Or do they just replace the factory plastic pieces? I need something to protect the painted portion of the sills on my 2013. Please let me know if you guys have anything like that.
