Have an ipad in dash? Chime in!!!

Hi guys,

Most of you know me for building the "black box" for the cluster conversion. I'm working on another project that will come to TMS soon.

I was wondering, for those who have the ipad in dash. What's your current setup?

Which Ipad?
What are you doing to control the radio?
Pictures?
Are you HVAC controls in tact?
What are some features you would really like to have?

Some really cool stuff coming! Soon, the ipad will be a control center for your Mustang!

Just an idea of what's coming. Here is a test harness I build on android (this one will be released Q3 with a much prettier interface)

base model 2013 here! ipad mini but mine is connected thru bluetooth, its the one from musicarnw.

What im currently building is a permanent mounting solution and to make it look very factory (in the factory location for nav).

Going to hack up a scosche kit for the a/c controls and mould the hvac controls from the scoche kit where the doubledin would go. should look real nice once its all done if i can paint it right lol.

OH and i'll have a sony mex-gs610bt head unit behind the hvac controls which will be controlled by the ipad using sony's app remote. the sony headunit will also power and charge the ipad.

waiting to jailbreak the ipad mini so i can use "ignition" (carplay)

Been doing this for a while. Had a few requests for glass roof cars. Your control would be good for that.

Waiting for this result ! I been wanting to do this ever since that failed project I go a while back, before the Kenwood. The above is nice, but I did not want to put the controls up top. Just wanted the Ipad and the info screen.

Your results should be nice.

Awesome. Here is an early test build of the app. It has no "flash" its just a basic test harness and it works

I have a UI designer on the team that will create buttons, and make the UI look good. Making stuff pretty is not my strong point

Looking for more ideas on what kind of data to add to the app (like what do you want to see and control other than the radio?) So lets get some suggestions going!

I knew this seemed familiar, here is your other thread:
https://themustangsource.com/forums/...-200-a-523042/

I'm interested. Looks like you are a sponsor now too.

Maybe it was mentioned and I missed it, but will this be configurable so that we can rearrange the interface and make it look like anything we want?

Well a big selling point would be the ability to control the Havoc controls, sorted of what I-Data link did with the Kenwoods. That way you could keep the info screen as well.

Hmmm edit: I see in a old thread you have that to ! back when I was trying that OttoNavi that was a boat oad full of fail. It had potential to...on paper...
