Question Door Speaker Recommendations? - 2013 Base

I have a 2013 V6 mustang stock as can be when it comes to interior features. I wanted to upgrade just my door speakers and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.

I do want to keep the stock radio, head unit, etc. So I'm looking for some good speakers that aren't crazy expensive and are compatible without any other additional equipment.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I'm not completely sure. I'm not looking to spend over $200 for a pair. I've seen some speaker pairs for under $100. I've basically only looked on Amazon in terms of purchasing speakers. I don't think I'll be going to a store to purchase a pair as they'll probably be higher prices.

In no particular order:

D673A - Diamond Audio 5"x 7" / 6"x 8" Convertible Speaker System with Aluminum Tweeters D673A - Diamond Audio 5"x 7" / 6"x 8" Convertible Speaker System with Aluminum Tweeters

Alpine Spr-68 6 x 8 Inch 2 Way Pair of Car Speakers Alpine Spr-68 6 x 8 Inch 2 Way Pair of Car Speakers

Infinity Reference 6812CF 6"x8" 2-Way Speakers Infinity Reference 6812CF 6"x8" 2-Way Speakers

MBQUART PVL268 6 x 8-Inch 2-Way Component/Convertible Coaxial Speaker MBQUART PVL268 6 x 8-Inch 2-Way Component/Convertible Coaxial Speaker

There are many others (Polk Audio, JBL, Pioneer, etc.), but I prefer the higher-end stuff. Given your budget, I would recommend the MB Quartz or the Diamond Audio. If you don't mind used - eBay for even better deals...

Diamond is nice stuff. I prefer quart but I have some hearing issues that make me prefer particularly bright speakers. I hope there is a place the op can test these speakers and make a choice. People don't often buy cars without a test drive but buy speakers based on ratings.

Best speakers I've ever heard are alpine component speakers.

Alpine type r spr60c(retail for $300. On eBay $155) 110watts rms. sound super super clear!!

I have components in my '14 GT now (SPX-17PRO), but they require modification to the door panels and/or the mirror covers to install. I don't know if OP wants to go through that or if he just wants a drop-in solution.

I agree you can get some decent components in the sub-$200 price range. It just depends if OP wants to go through the effort of installing.

check out the fosgate T1682's, you can get them for $77 shipped
here here
. that would leave you enough to get a good amp + wiring because you do not want the stock head unit pushing your speakers. I made that mistake before on my blaupunkt 6x8's and it didn't come close to doing them justice. have fun, this is one of the first mods that should be done to these cars!

Thank you very much, I actually never heard of Diamond Audio or MB Quartz before, so that's definitely something I'll look into. And yes, I'm looking more for a simple plug in play type of solution instead of having to add or modify additional parts.

I put in some older Kenwoods I had lying around, faded to the front a lot, and am pretty happy with the sound.
It would be nice to have more bass and have it get louder and all, but I'm 38, my days for that are over ... I get more enjoyment out of hearing the exhaust these days
