cleaning the interior
cleaning the interior
I just used armor all wipes on the old stangs interior but I'm not sure if that's a good idea since this interior is a lot different. Any suggestions or pictures?
I try to avoid armor all, it makes it nice n shiny but I really think it does more harm than good, Ive noticed fading on old vehicles in the past, plus the dust collect and sticks to it...drives me crazy! haha
On my '11 I just use water moistened microfiber towel and follow over it with a dry microfiber towel...gets up all the dust and no harmful chemicals =)
On the leather seats, make sure you use a conditioner every other cleaning or so to keep those seats from cracking and fading! I'm using Lexol Leather Conditioner and it works beautifully. Very quick and easy to use too.
I also highly recommend the weathertech floor mats, I havent had to vacuum once with them. I just wash em off with a hose and they are good to go. There are pics of my interior in my profile, I have cleaned it like this since I got it and have kept it looking better than when I first got it new (minus the dirty floor mats photo...thats just a demo lol)

I use Meguires Leather wipes on the seats. (Many too have success with Lexol)
Meguires Quik Interior Detailer wipes for all the soft touch materials (arm rest, door, dash...)
For when it's dusty I just use Swiffer dust cloths... I avoid microfiber on the interior as it collects and keeps the dust- so then once you use it again, you are more prone to just rubbing it in.
And then windex wipes if anything needs a shine.
Hasn't failed.

I used a california duster made for the interior on the dash and zaino leather treatment (z-9 and z-10) and poor boys natual look dressing for dash, etc. I used all of this on my cobra's and other cars.

Look into Leatherique or Leather Master kits for the seats. The wipes are good in a pinch, but both of these will protect as well.
For the dash/doors, 303 Protectant would be my suggestion. Not shiny, very durable, and not much more than Armor-All in terms of pricing.

And in case you didn't know, never use regular armor all on leather seats...that will dry them out in a heartbeat!
Happy cleaning! I'll be giving my Black 5.0 a super detailing today
That was my experience as well. Used it once and then tossed in aside
The Lexol Conditioner is applied, allowed to soak, and then the excess is wiped off per the directions. The seats are shiny while the conditioner is absorbing but once you wipe away the excess conditioner, the shininess goes away for the most part (there is still a slight, noticeable shininess to them). On my red leather the conditioner does a great job at enhancing the color vs. making them shiny.

I use the Ice system interior cleaner. So far nothing bad, the smell is nice and clean. No glossy shine, just looks like a brilliant matte, like new really. I like it.
