Cdc dead pedal
I installed the CDC dead pedal in my car today. There is a gap between the kick panel and the pedal that I couldn't get over. It just bothered me. I thought I would post here in case anyone was considering it. I figure it's nice to know what to expect. It is a stout piece and looked well made. I'm an old man and picked pretty over useful.

These are before and after picture. I ended up pulling it out and returning it.

I ended up sending back the tri bar mats. They were really thin and felt cheap. They were like the factory floor mats just with a pretty logo. I went with the Shelby signature logo. I'm a big fan of his work and figured it would be a nice bit of homage. These mats are awesome. They aren't wearing thin like the plain black set. Great buy.
mine CDC dead pedal doesn't have that gap either. I think I had to do some grinding of the bracket or put a washer in it. I know I had to play with it a bit in order to fit flush against the panel.
I picked up one of the dead pedal covers from AM last year. It doesnt match my other pedals like the CDC one, but I like the fact that it covers that whole area to protect the carpeting. It fits flush against the side, and matches the contour as well.
I dont have a good picture of it, but they do have some decent pics on the AM site if you wanted to check it out, and it is a heavy duty piece of brushed stainless.

Seems that your panel is not properly seated, because if you look at your before picture you barely see the wire beside the carpet, but in your after picture you see more to he left of the wire. Seems that your panel is pushed too much.

Here is a picture of my CDC dead pedal - no gap like yours has. I know it wasn't ground down or anything because CDC did a make over of my car in Mustang Alley during the Woodward Dream Cruise and simply took the pedal out of the wrapping and installed it - didn't have any tools to grind anything and didn't add anything to it that wasn't part of the package of parts.

Like several others in this post, my CDC dead pedal installed perfectly, and the kick-panel had no gap afterward. It matched the GT Premium metal pedals, and works great on the track for planting your left foot, without fear of ripping the carpet. Sorry yours is not to your liking. I published installation instructions for this part for CJ Pony Parts. If you go to their website, look up the part, you can find my instructions with photos, perhaps that will help...?
(ps: I, too, have the Lloyd tri-bar mats, but I like mine).
