BLENDMOUNT TAP WIRE LOCATION

New here and this has probably been dicussed, but I have a Escort 9500ix and want to mount a Blendmount and wire tap to rear view mirror for my 2013 GT 5.0. Which wires do you tap into on back of Auto Dimmer ? Thanks in advance.

Look up the tie in assembly on eBay and they have their particular direction of what to tie into. You're prob either going to tie into the auto dim or a little further up in the map light area.

The connector C9012 has pin 1 w/ a blue wire that provides 12VDC power from fuse F41 that is energized by the accessory delay relay (C9039 pin 1 blue for camera w/o NAV). Connector C9012 also has pin 10 w/ a black wire w/ yellow trace that is connected to ground (C9039 pin 3 black / yellow for camera w/o NAV).

This is what I have:

I do not know what the C9012 #'s mean but are you saying the red wire tap wire goes into the blue wire on the auto dimmer and the black wire on the wire tap goes in the the black w/yellow trace on back of auto dimmer ? I want the Radar Detector to come on when I turn the key on and go off when I turn the key off. Thanks

The black wire goes into the black and yellow ground, and the red wire goes into the blue. It works perfectly for me.

I know. I used a multi meter to find them. There are others that will work too, but this one is easier and in my case, not being used by anything else as far as I can tell.

With that hook up does it come on when you turn the key on and turn off when you turn the key off, that is what I am looking for.

Yes it does. I'm really happy with the Blend Mount and mirror tap. I don't have to put the detector away to use the sun shade, it doesn't fall off the windshield anymore and I don't have to turn it on and off anymore.

Thanks, perfect. I had a blendmount on my Corvette that tapped into the mirror and worked exactly like that. Worth the money for sure. Once you add one you will not regret it. Just to show the difference in price, the one for the Corvette cost $129.99 compared to $79.99 for the Mustang. Mods for the Vette were very expensive for sure. Thanks again should be recieving my blendmount sometime this week.
