Audio Upgrade q's

Ok So I recently purchased my first Mustang. I have a 2014 V6 Base model. So i have the base stereo without Sync or the USB port in the center console. The stock stereo as we all know not the best. I do really like the look of the center unit and my steering wheel controls. All I'm idealling looking to do is upgrade the component speakers in the car To improve the overall sound quality/output. I'm not adding a sub. What do I need to look for or get Just purchase the shaker 500/1000 system from Ford or a used one from the web or do i need to go a different route since the amp isn't really that good in that system anyways? I don't want to Go with a GPS NAV unless I have to and just looking in terms of head unit speakers is simple market research and all as far as what I'll get. Thanks all in advance.

Whats your budget?

There are so many routes you can take with our cars.

I retrained the factory radio, and used a JBL MS-8 DSP with a Pioneer 45x4 amp, and nice JL Audio speakers.

Its pure audio bliss.

Cheers,
-Matt

Don't have a budget yet but will buy parts over time just mostly looking for guidance I know we have a wide variety of options but I guess main thing is to retain a more stock appearance as I am a fan of the center console appearance. Mainly want the guidance on the head unit route if that helps any lets say under $300 do you have pics of your audio upgrade or a thread zero?

A good dsp/line out converter and an aftermarket amp would definitely be the way to go like stated above.

I plan on doing speakers and a sub I had in my old mustang (I have base stereo as well). So I purchased an AudioControl 6ch, line out converter (about $90) then will add their EQ/dsp ($2-300) afterwords. Have an MTX 200x4 amp and an MTX 600x1 mono amp. 2 comp. sets. Cant wait to get it all in.
