Another 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fibre dash

Been meaning to do this for a while and finally got around to doing the dash in the 5.0 .

I wanted a similar colour to the existing scheme so went with Platinum and gloss black 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fibre.

The dash facia is easy to remove - the gear change unit just clips out and the radio facia is held in by two screws. Once off the radio controls are held on the facia by 14 - yes 14 - tork screws..

Application of the 3m DiNoc is easy peasy. Just cut roughly to shape and trim then heat and stretch to fit.

I think the result was worth the effort - total time 2 hours.

That turned out nice though I am not a fan of carbon fiber look. I am surprised how good it came out around the e-brake area which is a very complicated contour.

Does it feel as cool as it looks? Or is it just smooth?

It has texture. I like the way it changes with the light.

Nice job! Reminds me I need to finish my project. Any issues with the curve by the e-brake?

The brake curve is the most difficult part and a lot of heat is required to make it take the shape. As per another posters recommendation this part was done first.

If you didn't use adhesion promoter, it will lift when the interior of the car gets hot.

Ask me how I know....

Haha thanks for reminding me. I'm attempting it this weekend and re-doing the parts of my dash that are peeling.

I considered that but at over 600 bucks plus transport and taxes to the UK it was not feasible (went for a CS lower valance instead LOL).

sounds like adhesion promoter is the key to success in this job. BTW it does look very good. Nice job.
