Alpine Speaker Install
Alpine Speaker Install
My Alpine speakers came today
so tonight I installed them. They sound great even on the factory HU and amp. Used the Metra wiring harness, and ordered the speaker brackets from Tousley Ford. Found the link in one of the other threads.
I've had Alpines in 2 other vehicles and enjoyed them a lot. They tend to be a littel less efficient than other speakers, I believe these are rated at 89db.
Plan on installing some rears later, but they look to be a pain to install. I also, need to slow down some, the wife is questioning why I'm purchasing so much for the car....oops. Better line up a Spa day for her.

Nice.
I had some 10-yr old Kenwood 5x7's lying around and threw them in, then faded most of the sound to the front and now I love how it sounds.
Yeah, it could have more bass, or it could be louder AND have more bass, but it sounds good enough, and the radio is not the reason I bought the car anyway ... lol

I've been looking at this from Alpine thinking it might be a nice way to get a little more power to the speakers. It does have 56 reviews most 4 or 5 star. Not ready to do a full blown factory replacement....yet.
Nice. The rear speakers are harder to do then the front ? It would seem the rears would be easy since you do not have to remove the door panels.
After I get my OttoNavi system set, I will be looking at speakers as well.

It is along the line of Remove the plastic panels on either side of the rear seat, and the lower rear seat may need to come out to get the panels out. All of that to get the upholstery off the rear deck to finally get to the speakers. I may have left a step or 2 out.
I'll have to find the write up before I take that one on. Here's the write up!

Sorry I dont know what they are running at, and not sure where the factory amp is. Maybe someone can answer both those for us.
