Heated seats

How are your heated seats,

Mine turn on take 5 or so minutes to heat up, stay on for little bit, then turns off and starts process all over again. It's not constant.

Are yours all the same?

I've been in other vehicles, and they were a constant heat

Do you have leather? I read somewhere of someone else with an 11/12 with the same complaint so, if you have leather, maybe its a feature to keep it from getting too hot. They stay on in my '13 but only get half as warm as the seats in my wife's Sorento, but she has cloth with three heat settings.

There's another thread about the heated seats in the 08's, so I guess this is not a new thing

Mine doesn't shut off, where I need to turn it on everytime,

It's just not a constant heat, like other cars I have been in, they were constant

Oh I getcha. Yeah not sure why it would pulse and not be constant. Maybe more about not overheating the driver rather than the seats if its a 1-setting, high temp unit. I think the other guy had to turn his on every 10 min or so IIRC which would suck.

Yep the 12' mustang has a on/off button, one heat setting

So yea just curious, being this my first new car.
Heated seats are awesome when driving at night with top down. Also like back therapy too...lol

Same here. Mine stays on, but only get like luke-warm at best. Our Mini we had (which had leather) used a 3-tier system and went from kinda warm to VERY warm! I would actually have to turn it down to 2 or 1, cause 3 just got too hot. But at least I had more than an on/off button like the Mustang...

They're the worst heated seats I've ever had. I have leather and most of the time they just get luke warm. Sometimes they get really hot and I have to turn them off but thats probably after 20 minutes of driving.

The cycling of the seat is a built in safety feature. You don't have to hit the button, but the seat will regulate a temperature and cycle on and off.

They're better than no heat, but I personally would have preferred them to have two settings like most of the other cars in the Ford lineup.

Mine never get hot just warm, but it is still better than my old F150 that had regular seats.
My wife's Infiniti QX4 has the best heated seats I have ever used, they will toast your buns!!

I have a 2012 and mine will stay on as long as there is pressure to the seat.

They work even if someone isn't sitting in the seat. I've turned mine on and let it warm up before.

that is true but they will shut off after a short period of time if no one is in them.

No they don't. They will momentarily stop heating when they reach a specific temperature, but they don't turn on or off based on an occupant in the seat.
