Alpine KTP-445U

Anyone installed one? The volume increase to your base system is impressive. 45wx4, makes the volume levels at least 5x factory. If you have aftermarket speakers, it will make them really sing.

I have. I used the PAC audio adapter which made the install pretty easy. I'm not sure if it sounds better or not. It definitely is louder but the quality is just not there. I tried adjusting the gains as the amp directions say but like I said it didn't really seem to improve the sound quality.

I installed one in my '12 F150 along with some Pioneer speakers.
Sounds terrible! I have a ticking sound at low volume on FM/AM only...Sat radio is fine!
Not sure what the deal is!?

Tried to adjust the gain to get it to go away and it has to be really low gain to make it disappear. Gonna remove it soon!

Same issues we had with the mustang. Loud pop upon audio startup and noise with radio. We turned the gain way down and the pop is very muted and the radio reception is ok. Funny though, it really did bring out the full sound of the pioneer coxials. Fords base radio in the mustang is very underpowered. Im going to call Alpine this week to see what they think about it.

Alpine rep told me to please have installer disconnect the blue/white remote input wire.

i would say its a waste of money. just go buy a real 4 channel amp. that has a true power rating. this says 45x4 but that not RMS. especially using 14-16 gauge power wire.
