Purchased this strip ( I recommend another vendor since the light color isn't accurate and received item in rough shape)

Spliced at the rear trunk bulb connector. Routed behind the panel and carpet. Made a plug so that I can swap it out later if necessary without another install. A lot brighter, a little more blue than I prefer, but the picture is making it seem even more blue. I would say it's about 6000k.

Gave the motor a quick detail, came out to glossy. Next time I'm going to water down the armorall a tad.

Anyone can do this, very easy. Only 2 wires running to the rear trunk bulb. Take those tap in to the and then run the wire to the strip, done.
