Aftermarket subs/speakers with OEM Nav
Aftermarket subs/speakers with OEM Nav
Has anyone done this? Im trying to see what would be involved. I have 2 alpine amps (4 channel and a mono for sub) that I would love to hook up but still maintain the stock nav unit. I believe there is a device I can buy to tap into the single and reroute to my amps but unfamiliar.
Thanks

I used it to hook up an amp and sub to my factory shaker 500.

You really need an oem integration processor like the Audiocontrol DQL-8 or the JL Audio Cleansweep to sum everything together, get rid of the processing, and send it to aftermarket amps. You can do it with cheaper LOC modules, but it's not gonna sound that great.

The is for adding to the Shaker 500. I don't think the NAV is much different.

I think he's wanting to do more than just a sub, though. When you're taking the trouble to amp the whole system and replace all the speakers, you need more processing for it to sound good. The factory system processes the sound to compensate for the terrible factory speakers, so it rolls off the bass on the sub channels and clips the highs and mid-bass from the other 4 speakers. If you amplify that, you're not gonna get very good sound from high quality speakers and amps. The sound processors combine all the signals and equalize them to a clean signal to feed a 4 channel amp and a sub amp.
