When I sit waiting for my son at the school, my stereo turns off and back on randomly, almost as if the key is turned off and back on. The Schoche screen does not go off, only the stereo. It is a Pioneer Supertuner DVD player with a Schoche (sp?) kit, all wiring kits soldered and plugged into the factory harness. Not sure if I should blame the stereo or the car. Anyone have a similar issue and how did you fix it if you did?

 

Check your battery...
When they get flakey, odd things can happen but I've seen the screen shut off in that case.

 

I thought about that. It is a 5 year old battery. I have not gone anywhere to test it because it has been fine on start up.

 

It must've been the battery. The old one finally died and the stereo no longer shuts off like it was since I got the new one.
