I Painted the Center Console and Radio Faceplate with Metalic Blue paint and Satin Clear.
I'm going to attempt to wrap/cover the center console/cubby rear door with leather so that the "U" section on it will be blue like the center console and Radio Faceplate and the middle will stay black.
Maybe Redline Goods can help with that part.
I also changed the shift **** to a 2015-2017 ****. It isn't a direct fit. I had to disassemble the new **** and shaft (it comes with the silver shaft cover) to drill out a lip/land near the top of the shaft body so that it would sit lower to actuate shift mechanism on the 2013-2014. It also screws on different. Luckily, I was able to trim slightly where it needed to screw and mounted it like stock (no physical changes to the stock mechanism at all). I made my own mini leather boot to cover the bottom two inches and covered the sliders in leather too. The new **** doesn't have the Select Shift buttons, but I'm probably going to convert to paddles. I'll edit this post close-up with pics of the shift **** later.
Originally, I wrapped the Radio Faceplate and Center Console in Blue Brushed Aluminum Vinyl, but after 3 weeks in warm weather (not particularly hot), it was bubbling up. So I removed the wrap and painted instead.
Everything was cleaned before wrapping and I did use a heat gun to contour/stretch the vinyl to wrap the console. I've wrapped Xbox controllers without a problem (but they don't go outside in the sun either). I posted a pic of the controller too (pic is from today - a few months of use after the wrap).
When I ended up painting the Radio Faceplate & Center Console, I bought spares and painted them instead (painting was the typical process), The originals are in a box with the wrap removed.
Here is how the Radio Faceplate & Center Console looked wrapped (I don't have pics of it bubbled up).
Here is a pic of the Xbox controller from today. Still looks good after months of use.
In both scenarios, I fully dissembled the Radio Faceplate and Center Console. to be able to Wrap and then later paint instead. It all comes apart easily. It's just some screws and tabs that pull out easy.
My car is Deep Impact Blue, hence the blue center console. I'm leaving the dash and steering wheel their stock brushed aluminum.
Here is a pic of the retaining screw on the shifter. The 2015-2017 use screws on the front, but the 2013-2014 use screws on the side. Luckily, at the mounting height, there is a tab that is intended to click on the boot for the 2015-2017, but I notched the top of the tab slightly and the stock screw went right there to secure the shifter to the shaft.
If you look at the pic, you can see the screw going through the notched top of that tab.
I don't have pics of how I drilled out the lip/land though (inside the top of the shifter) and to show what I did would require taking the whole thing apart and I wouldn't be able to show a "before" picture for it to make sense.
