2011 GT500 Cluster Swap into My 2010 Base Model GT

I'm in the process of doing a GT500 cluster swap on my 2010 Mustang GT. I already have someone who will reprogram the PATS system and correct the mileage so everything will match the car. The only issue is I need to know if the base model cars ( Which I have) is pre wired to have the message center switches. I already pulled out the headlight switch panel and from what I can see, there are no extra connectors for the message center. I was able to find someone who had the wiring diagram for a 2011 GT with the message center. If anyone can pass on that information for me or guide me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!!!!

Interesting will the new gauges with My Color work since your car is a base ?

Someone on here did that swap a few years ago, but I can't remember who it was. Might try searching for threads about it.

As of right now, I sent United Radio my cluster to correct the mileage. I also purchased the Message Center panel with harness from eBay. Once I get those 2 in, I'll wire in the Message Center and get the PATS reprogrammed. As soon as I get everything together, I will let everyone know how I made out.
jim010 has been kind enough to assist me with this swap so a BIG THANKS to jim010. I'll update everyone once I get everything.

Message center came in this afternoon and the cluster is expected tomorrow. Next Saturday my friend over at ford is going to do the PATS reprogramming for me. Gonna start doing the switch this weekend.

I took the easy way out with my GT500 cluster, I just swapped the speed and tech overlays and left the center portion alone because of the boost gauge.
I'm happy with the results plus I have a premium so I still have MyColor in the gauges.

Decided to plug it the cluster just to make sure everything works properly. Next weekend, everything should be done.

Keep in mind that your car will not be sending a boost signal on the canbus. The cluster sees this as an error so not only will gauge not work but it will also glow red when headlights are on to indicate an error. Here it is installed in my 2010.

Interesting. I wonder if there is a way you can have the cluster think the gauge is working so that doesn't happen.

RM where did you get the overlay from? Was it an easy swap? I ask because I did an gauge overlay swap on my '95 and the **** thing never read right afterward. Guess I didnt get the needles back in the right spot and I dont want that to happen on my '11.

There was another member on here that bought a salvage cluster I guess because there two pins broken off the back of the cluster. It seemed he got frustrated trying to find some one to repair it so he had posted on here that he was selling it, 30 min latter it was mine and I was on long search for one.

The swap was very easy on the overlays, very easy. As far as the needles this is what I did and it worked perfect. Swap the overlays and put everything back together minus the clear lens. Reinstall in the gauge in the car and then turn the ignition on but don't start the car. Anyways turn the key on so the that the gauge resets its self with out the needles on also do not turn the key off. After they reset lightly push each needle on the pin enough to stay on then remove the cluster and press the needles on and then reassemble everything and that should be it. In the end every thing looks stock and I was happy to leave my center gauges alone.

Oh ya by just doing the overlays the SVT logo does not light up and the redline marks but I'm really ok with that.

Here is the original post where I found mine also other talking about the same gauges.

The installation of the message center harness was a complete success!! Everything works perfectly. Tomorrow I'm off to ford for the PATS programming and the swap will be complete.

The only thing I noticed is after the reprogram, I no longer have the my color option on the cluster. Before the program it was there and was working properly. Any thoughts?
