The Lc6i can be connected after the factory amplifier. So your aftermarket amplifier will receive the final signal output.

FROM AUDIO CONTROL:

AudioControl continues to simplify OEM integration with the new LC6i Six Channel Line Output Converter with internal summing. The LC6i is built on the same technology as its predecessor, the LC6. The LC6i converts speaker level inputs from a factory radio or factory amplifier into high-quality pre-amp signals. The addition of internal summing capabilities and improved GTO™ signal-sense turn-on make the LC6i the perfect way to solve your OEM headaches.
The LC6i allows for the addition of aftermarket processors and amplifiers while maintaining use of the factory volume and steering wheel controls. Internal signal summing and AudioControl's new GTO™ signal-sense turn-on make the LC6i a perfect OEM interface for a performance audio system.
The LC6i follows in the steps of the rampantly successful LC8 Eight Channel Line Output Converter, offering all of the same features for 6 channel systems at a reduced price. The LC6i accepts speaker level signals, both crossed-over and full range, and converts them to high-quality pre-amp signals. Signals from factory radios with built-in crossovers can be overcome by summing them together, internally, to provide a full-range pre-amp signal.
The LC6i provides the type of clean pre-amp signals installers are familiar with. Those who desire custom control over the sound can easily add one of AudioControl's many crossovers or equalizers which offer unlimited system design flexibility, clearly different than traditional OEM interfaces.

Hope this helps a bit!

That does. Internal summing is what I was looking for. Thanks. I'll have to get one of these and install it at the same time I install my Lockpick.

I wish there was some install pics/procedures on something like the LC6. I don't want to start hacking wires away. I also do not want to lose any of the functions that the factory radio has like the sync voice.

From what I've read, we won't loose any factory functionality by using a summing processor like an LC6.

Anyone know anything about this: http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=13335
seems relatively inexpensive and I believe it is completely plug-n-play.

I bought this a few weeks ago. Installing it wednesday. Ill post pics and a review. Im currently running both my amps off a high/low level adapter off the rear speaker wires to a Kicker KX3 Crossover. Ive been running it this way for a while now but if this thing is compatible with the Shaker 500 it should help clean up my install and allow me to add a 4 channel amplifier later or the 5 channel kicker Ive got my eye on!

Ill also be posting pics of the amplifier and corssover rack I made and installed behind the rear seats.

Looks like it only lacks summing. Summing is necessary if you want your external amps to see the full range of freqs coming from your music. The radios in our cars have built in cutoffs and eq's that have to be summed back together.

You CAN use the unit you linked, but its not optimal.

Manufactor's product link. You can read the manual there.

Also, there's a good review at amazon.com
