Winter tire newbie

Good info on here, just so I understand..

I have a 2013 GT with the 18 Aluminum rims. Lots of 17in 06-10 Gt rims for sale, but those are REALLY close on clearance for the brakes.

The TPMS is nice, but not necessary if you don't mind turning off the warning.

The Blizzaks, Michilins Ice , and Dunlops are all good choices.

The tire size thing is confusing for me. There is someone selling 18 in GT rims with TPMS sensor and new stock tires for 700. Thinking I could get an extra set of summer tires and be ahead of the game.

Thoughts?

TPMS is not needed, light is annoying for the first week but after that its fine. I check my tire pressure every Sunday regardless. Not worth the $$. I have the Michilene X-Ice and they did great in WI winter. No problem with 5" or less of snow. Anything more is pushing it. Just get 18" rim and tire package from tire rack. Keep in mind for snow thinner is better. I'm running 245-55R18
