V6 Pony Package Bumper Cover on GT?

All-

Being new to this whole "modification thing" I am just getting started on my GT that is soon to arrive.

However, like many here, I am disappointed with the GT front bumper cover. It lacks that "aggressive" look I love about Mustangs. After looking around at multiple options, I have decided that the V6 Pony Package cover is actually my favorite option.

I want to keep that trademark GT look and have the grille fog lights. So, I have a couple of questions before I go about spending the money.

1.) Can the V6 bumper cover be mounted on the GT?
2.) If so, is the fog light grille an easy replacement for the V6 one?
3.) Finally, where would I go about purchasing one economically?

Thanks!

1.) The V6 bumper can easily be mounted onto a GT
2.) Yes, the fog light replacement should be easy, just put the grille on when you have the bumper off the car.
3.) Your best bet would be using a take-off part company like New Take Off (http://www.newtakeoff.com/mustang_v6...r_2010-11.aspx)

As far as I know to get the gt grille to fit on the v6 bumper you will have to have the accessories surround. Or reuse the surround from your stock bumper. Biggest problem you will have imo is getting a bumper that matches your paint. The torch red&race red 2010+is a lot more common then the candy mettalic. Regardless it would look really good imo

1) Easy, the front of the car is Identical except for the cover.
2) The GT grill will NOT Fit the V6 bumper cover.
3) I see the V6 Bumper Cover on Ebay all the time or New Take Offs

What specifically about it will cause it to not fit? Is it only the tabs or is the entire shape different?

Thanks!

The entire grille/fog sections won't fit it because the V6 bumper actually has a piece of plastic that wraps around the grille and holds it in place.. The GT grille is a lot longer than the V6 grille area, also.. Just wait, once the 2010+ aftermarket exterior manufacturers start pushing out more products, there will be someone who makes a grille for the V6 front bumper that includes center fogs.

Running a V6 grille in the GT bumper is Possible with the Grill surround from a GT/CS, I will be doing that, he is wanting to go from a GT to a V6 Bumper.
Totally different animal.

You could run the Boss grill and see what it would take to make a set of fog lights work in the dummy spots.

Thanks for the feedback!

From what I understand, the grille surround is longer, but the grille itself is actually about the same size. Is this the case or am I mistake?

Thanks again!

Well, I'm not sure.. Just the fact that's it's longer than the piece is enough to say: It won't fit. I say just wait for a grille. You'd spend a lot more trying to get it fixed into it, than you would if you just waited.

It has been two years since the 2010+ has been released and I have searched exhaustively for any indication of the promised grill... no luck.

Here is my idea (quick "paint" shop).

I just helped my buddy with a 11 5.0 install the cs fascia w/fogs and saleen upper fog delete billet grille on sunday.
I can confirm that while the gt fascia is actually the right size to fit length wise*I mocked it up on my 11 3.7* the problem is the fogs are to big to fit the opening on the v6 cars. Height wise they stick down about a half an inch and up about the same. So you probally could make it work on your car but you would have to clearance around the fogs on both your upper&lower grille area of your bumper to make it work. Also the stock gt grille w/fogs doesn't have a black surround piece like the stock grille, so it won't look the same even if you modify your grille opening to fit. For those saying it won't fit be advised that the mounting tabs are in the exact same position on the gt as the v6 cars the grilles are also the same on the top where your radiator cover mounts over them and you use the push pin connectors. So the issue is the fog lights and their required clearance and the fact the gt grille will not fit in the v6 bumper with the surround piece and without it the grille won't look right compared to stock.
Just thought I'd put this out there for those wondering as my buddy and I did some serious examination of this while I was there because another buddy of mine with a 3.7 really wanted to do the gt grille but keep the v6 bumper. Another way you can alleviate this is to just simply buy a street scene eleanor style center fog grille for your v6 car. I Believe they are only like $200 and should look pretty mean once installed
I like my solution of just putting some piaa 3.5" fogs in the factory locations
