Trucarbon Hood
Trucarbon Hood
Anyone have any experience with this hood. I'm thinking of getting it especially that its functional and should work well with my jlt cai.

i have a different hood (2010-2012 A53) but same brand. i think the quality is fantastic and the fit is precise like stock. be prepared for a lot of compliments if you decide to get one. it improves the look of the car even more in person than it does in pictures.
Here's a few pointers that I had to learn the hard way. A good aftermarket hood like TruCarbon is a bigger mod than it seems especially if yours is a daily driver and not a show/race car:
1) count on having to prep/paint or plastidip the mesh, vents and screws that hold the vents in place. they come with unfinished aluminum and look 1000x better when painted to match. this can add a few dollars to the cost depending on which route you take.
2) there is some movement in the hood from air flow at higher speeds so you may want to consider hood pins.
3) idk about this model hood but mine requires a relocation kit if u want to be able to use window washer fluid. i did not get this and just use rain x instead, hasn't been a problem even in winter driving but that's just me.
4) these hoods expose your engine bay to the elements much more than stock. be prepared to clean it often. the vent on the passenger side in particular is almost directly over the battery and water can easily get on it if you're not careful or do something to cover the battery.
good luck if you decide to purchase, besides rims this is the mod that people notice the most.
