SHR Window Louver Install Question

So I've been thinking of installing the SHR Window Louvers (cause IMO they are easily the coolest looking window louvers for the S197). Here's the link:
SHR Pre-Painted Louver

I've watched the install video numerous times and have read accounts of the install. Here's what I keep wondering...
"Why couldn't you just pull the rear windows, use a Dremel to trim the interior pieces in place, and then install?"

Near as I can tell, the only reason for removing all the interior panels is to trim them- which I would probably do with my Dremel with a plastic cutting blade. However, I don't see why the pieces would have to be out of the car to make the cuts. Once the stock windows were out, wouldn't it be fairly easy to just make the necessary trims with the pieces in place?

Hoping someone here has done the install and explain why the install couldn't be done this way. I'll likely order the louvers either way- but it just seems like the most laborious part of the install is removing half the interior just to trim the pieces.

Is it because of the clearance needed for the wire saw? I've watched the video too and will have to take a closer look at the interior to see if I could pinpoint a reason. Id think there must be a reason lol.

I've climbed in the back of my Mustang and looked long and hard at the trim. I can't imagine the wire is going to reach that far back (and even if it did slightly contact the trim, it would only scuff the portion that is going to be removed anyway).

Like you, I imagine there HAS to be a reason to remove everything- I just can't figure it out and it's killing me!

I'm pretty sure the removal of the old window was easier without the interior panels in the way. Also, make sure you remove as much old adhesive as possible before installing the new louvered windows.

In addition to posting here, last night I sent an email inquiry to SilverHorse Racing to ask about the installation.

Surprisingly, within a couple hours there was a reply from SHR's owner, Marcello. Here it is:
While the trimming could be done a couple different ways, I have always found that pulling the panels is quick, easy, and gives me maximum control while minimizing the worry of scratching the paint on the pinch weld or messing up and cutting too much on one of the pieces. Having done probably 50+ cars, I can tell you that the two screws and two bolts that hold all of the interior together come out pretty quick, and the job isn’t as hard as it looks. I’m not saying you can’t do it other ways, just I have found that this way works well, and is easy to explain to people to do over the phone or via video.

Pretty thorough answer- and it gives me a lot of confidence to order the parts knowing its so easy to get a response from the company!

I'll be ordering these today, and will post some pics of the installed product (along with some notes as to how the install went).

Those are by far the best looking side louvers I've seen for the S197's.

I ordered the louvers yesterday, and apparently Sterling Grey must be a color that is kept in stock- because I received a FedEx tracking number this morning!

Hmmm, maybe these will arrive in time to install this weekend!
