Removing side scoops

Well I've been thinking lately about removing my side scoops on my 2010 GT. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for this? I can see they're held on with adhesive and I've heard fishing wire and a rag is best to use. I don't want to damage my paint obviously, and was wondering if anyone can possibly shed some light.

Heat the adhesive tape with a hair dryer to soften it, tape off the surface around it with a double layer of blue masking tape then work the fishing line in behind and draw back and forth on the line and slice through the adhesive.

Personally, they are already on the car, I would just leave them instead of going through the mess and possible scratches from taking them off.

Leave 'em on. Besides any possible damage, there will be holes exposed where they used to be.

I think there are holes on the body for those side vents.

The prior model California Specials had holes so you can't remove them. If you want to be sure you would have to remove the rear seat and side panels and see if there are holes behind the scoops.

Lawrence, I wasn't a massive fan of them at first but reckon, once you've got those deep dish 20s on it, it'll help "balance them out"

I dont know, but i doubt there are holes on the 2010s... they look as if they are stuck on to me.

From what I can tell they are stuck on as I can see the adhesive on the inside edges.

Has anyone figured this out yet? Someone with a convertible can see it with the top down
