As anyone installed an aftermarket HID kit with the Raxiom projector headlights? Could it work?

 

Been wondering this same exact thing. I know on Ebay there are some HID kits that come with projector housings like the Raxioms.

 

No one has tried this before? Could just be missing the obvious and the reason no ones attempted is because it can't be done?
If so is there a FULL HID conversion kit that comes with projectors, wiring ect. ?

 

Ok I did a little research but I will say this. I do not have these so I dont knopw for sure but from what I know about lights HID kits that have the same type (ex. H9) bulb should be compatible. The Raxiom light housings look close to the same as the link below and may be made by Raxiom. But the link below has the HID kit and housings sold together. And they both use the H9 type bulbs. They make kits for our stock housings and the bulb type is the same so logically if the Raxioms use teh H9 bulbs and the HID kits are for H9 housings they should work. Operative word is should though. Plus, as with anything you buy off Ebay quality could be a real concern. Sometimes I thumb through the feedback and find feebback on the exact same item and see what others are saying.

Not sure. They might work though. Just not sure why they say you cant put HIDs in the regular housings. Also the Raxiom site says the housings can't fit on cara equipped with the factory HIDs. I'm guessing the factory uses hotter bulbs cause I've seen HID kits installed in non HID housings all the time and no one I know of has had issues with melting or burning like I've seen some people say would happen if you install aftermarket HIDs in non HID approved housings.

I had 55w hid bulbs on my roxium housings on my 07. They were there for over 2 years. They worked perfectly. My new one has factory HID, and the roxiums were very close in quality and clean cut off line to the factory ones I have.

Wiring them to function properly requires some know how. Don't ask as I don't remember, but I made them work perfectly. High beams on roxiums are flaps FYI, so the hid's need to be wired properly to prevent flickering.

I strongly suggest you pick up a quality HID wiring harness. It safeguards the stock wiring.
