Powder coated my rims

I had some damage done to my rims from a shop during an oil change so they had to pay the powder coating bill. Here's the result...

They used to be matte gunmetal, but the shop couldn't match the same color so I did matte black. It looks much better in my opinion.

Looks good, what WOULD the cost have been if you had to pay?? Just wondering because I drive my car in the winter and I'm pretty sure the paint on my AMR rims won't last more than a few years at best.. I see powdercoating in my future

Looks good! Did you have the Brembos powder coated as well, or is a DIY kit? Either way, they look great!

It was $680 total. That's on the expensive side...but It was done in 24 hours and all I had to do was drop off my car and pick it back up the next day. They unmounted the tires, acid dipped the old finish off, fix any curb rash, bends or nicks, base coat of primer, 2 coats of matte black ,mounted and balanced my tires and there is a lifetime warranty on the finish, and it was ready at noon the next day. So if I were paying out of pocket, I still would have chose this option for simple convenience. The other quotes I got needed the rims for 2 weeks and were about 150 less.

I used paint for the calipers. G2 I think? It's a year old and looks brand new. I got a chip or two, but I have extra paint left over that I use for touch ups.

Take it to any jiffy lube, good year, Firestone, pepboys, autozone or Walmart and tell them you want your tires rotated. I'm pretty sure you'll leave with some serious damage.

Thanks for the info, will definately be looking into this in the future.. FWIW, I use a Q-tip with the leftover caliper paint for touchups. Also, I noticed you still have a pretty good coating of the grey paint on your rotor hubs, mine on my 2013 started to rust and looked horrible. I got a duplicolor caliper paint kit (black) from Amazon for around $12, took off the rims and painted the rotor hubs. Looks really good now. Never even saw the rotor hubs with the stock rims but when you switch to after market, they become more visible. It's one of those small mods that makes a pretty big difference IMO.

Those look really nice. The one thing I do not like about the BOSS is the "Ring"
