Potential Decklid Mod

So I was driving behind my buddy's 2013 GT today and I wasn't really digging the faux gas cap.......I mocked up two ideas I had. The first picture is how it sits now, second is the GT emblem, and third is the 5.0 emblem. Thoughts?

Although I like the factory faux gas cap, I gotta say ,that GT graphic looks killer.

Hmmm....wonder how it'd look if you offset the GT to the lower right (or left) corner of the deck lid panel?

I added a new one. I think this might be better. It's the GT emblem off of the 2015-2016.

It looks good but what deck lid do you have. I want to change my stock one out on my 14, I like the way the 16s look with just the GT on it. Pretty much what you have in the pics. I have been looking for one.

I am personally tired of the dinner plate emblem look and I am digging the smooth panel with the centered GT emblem.

Don't care for it now that I see it. It disrupts the flow of the stripes. I like your idea of the S550 style GT emblem centered between the stripes much better.

Those broken stripes was my biggest gripe of our 13 GT500.

For your car, why not stripe the decklid & put the logo off to the right? Or just go with no logo.

I striped the decklid when I had a V6. It worked okay for black, but I'm looking for something different this time.

I still like the classic GT emblem centered in the back. I feel it goes better with the retro theme of the S197. But that's just my opinion.

Lol it's FUN going back and forth the pics! I like the lower right 'GT'. The '5.0' is hmm too...cheesy?

That's why I replaced mine with the ribbed panel that matches the license plate surround when the stripes were done. It breaks up the stripes in a more natural way.

I actually like the gloss black panel, even with 'broken stripes', as long as the car is any color other than black. Otherwise it appears unfinished.

As soon as I sell some extra parts to fund my project and find a GT emblem from a S550, I'll be doing this to my car. I think I'll look awesome.

If anyone wants a engine cover (no 5.0 emblem), stock coil covers, and GT grille ......

I'll ask my S550 buddies. Most of them have replaced theirs with the Sound City Spy emblems or the Ford Racing emblem delete panel.

Had we kept our 2013, I was going to remove the stripes from the rear & just leave them on the top. That way still have stripes but not break up the horizontal lines of the back of the car!
