Plastidiped the hood vents

I'm actually surprised on how well and how easy the process went. Simple to remove the vents and applied 4 coats. I love the contrast it provides with the sterling gray paint.

Looks badass. Would love to do that to my mustang when it gets delivered. How was the process anything to take note of?

Looks great, especially on a SG Mustang!

I'm considering the same for my car (Black though) when it arrives.

Looks good! Did this with mine on DIB. It was my first time using plastidip and I'm still surprised at how well they turned out. Been on since August and has so far survived half a Chicago winter and still looks good.

I have got to do mine!! How do you pull out the vents and where did you get the plastic-dip? And do I understand that you can take the plastic-dip off if you decide not to keep it or get tired of it?

I got my plastidip at menard's. I think most of the home improvement stores should have it. And yeah it peels off.

As far as removing them I did mine a while ago but think it's just some little tabs. Pegasus can probably answer it better.

The vents are simple to pull out. Just search the forum and multiple threads will show you how to do it. ( I would post link but the iPhone likes to make it impossible to do. Lol) I got my plastidip at Home Depot, but call before you go to make sure they have it. Or you can also check online.

Do you have to scuff up the vents prior to painting with the plastic dip?

No just make sure they're clean and paint right over them.

I had mine on for a couple of months and then got tired of trying to get the wax streaks off them and pulled the Plasti off. It does make you look at the vents a lot more when they contrast on the shiny paint. I just never got around to doing them again before I sent her off.
