What's the plastic piece on the trunk lid for?

 

Could this the antennae for the remote control trunk?

 

GPS and satellite radio antenna.

If you have factory-installed Sirius tuner in your Mustang, you get to strut around with one of those ugly things on your trunk lid

 

They could have at least made it smaller and put it on the roof. Kinda glad I don't have satellite radio now.

 

I have it and don't use the radio..sure is ugly. I can't believe ford still uses antennas anyways. I always liked the little fin on top of my old BMW.

I don't mind it. I just didn't know what it was. I agree that the fin antennae looks better on most cars. I had to stick/glue on an antennae on the roof of my last car because Sirius didn't come with the car and over time it started to turn. I can live with the plastic bubble on the trunk. Thanks for the education. Learning lots about Mustangs these days thanks to TMS.

 

I thought that was the back up camera?!

 

Going to be hard to see through the spoiler.
After market Satellite radio antenna/ GPS.

 

You can see the camera on the bottom of the pic, in the spoiler. It's the dark black ring, looks like it is pointing down in that pic. If you look directly at the car from behind, you see the fake gas cap, in the style of the old Stangs in the middle. Above that is the brake light bar, and above that is the camera in the spoiler.

 

Yeah I saw it on another black GT I was looking at. Glad I don't have it.

 

Oh I see it now. Wow, they are hideous looking.

 

It barely 2" x 2", barely noticeable, never mind ugly!
