Plasti-dipped my 5.0 badges

And yeah, I thought about using the same technique for the faux gas cap, but don't think it's gonna work or that I'll be able to do it, so I'm not gonna bother ... I plan on replacing that whole rear deck panel soon ... lol
The faux cap is easy. Just plasti dip the whole thing, and then if you want the gt part to show, peel the circle off when it's dry. It creates a clean break from the outer circle. Here is what the entire cap looks like plasti dipped. Btw... I also have a pony cover. I would suggest you match the color of you car. Its more of a pop that way.

As far as peeling off the tape and overspray, I waited only a few more minutes than that, and started by removing the blue tape and the paper towels , then moved on to the inside part of the "0" and the red part.
I had it planned for some time, and was basically waiting on the car to arrive, so I could still get my D-plan (dealership employee) pricing.
I took delivery on Sat the 11th, I gave my 2-week notice on Monday the 13th ...
I've been trying to get out of the automotive business for some time now, being a Service Advisor kinda isn't all that much fun, and the recent 1-hr+ commute change (since I moved in with my girlfriend), didn't help things one bit as far as me staying with that company.
Plus, working 11+ hrs/day, and spending over 2 hrs/day commuting, doesn't really give much time to look for another job and/or to interview.
So, I'm looking for something else, although for now I'm loving my time off and being able to have lunch daily with the GF, and even drive her to/from work occasionally

No screws at all. Some older models may have a couple of factory pins to help line up the emblem. Dont worry. The new emblem will use these holes or cover them up. Use fishing line to cut through the tape on a warm day. Don't use a heat gun as its too easy to damage something else if you have never used one. The hardest part will be getting rid of the tape residue. Use the MILD version of goof off with orange additive. After its clean, you just use a little alcohol to prep the area before you stick the new one on. Pm me your email after you get the emblems and I will email you the cutout template that you can print out at home.
Don't try to eyeball the emblems when putting them on. Trust me. No matter how good you are, you'll want your emblems in the exact same place on both fenders.

The factory uses the holes to align the fender emblems. In the past It was faster and more accurate for the factory worker to just slap them on with the guide pins as the car went down the assembly line. They stopped putting holes in the recent ones because buyers may want to remove them.
Btw if you remove the faux gas cap, you will not only have two big ugly holes to deal with but a circular hump where the cap used to be.
Very disappointing after the removal, as your only option is a panel or boat load of body work.

They have a downloadable PDF in the 3.7 emblem section. Same size and same template as the 5.0 badges.
