Overall, I'm happy with how they came out, considering how easy it was to do, and that if I end up really not liking them, I can always peel the stuff off

I plan on eventually doing something about the chrome pony in the grille and the decklid faux gas cap ... they're the only chrome things left on the outside of the car ...

Thanks guys.

I plan on doing the pony in the front grille too, but I think I'm gonna remove it before I do it.
Cleaning the overspray from the honeycomb grille can probably be considered actual torture in some countries .... lol

THOUGHT about doing the faux cap, but it started raining so I scurried on inside ... lol

The rims I'll never do. I love the current look/finish. I MAY do different rims, at some point, but for now I love these.

I know one thing when it comes to rims or tires. I'm definitely changing the rear size when I get to replace the stock rears. Most likely going to 285/35-19's

You can actually buy the blacked out emblems and grille pony from starkey products. Just an FYI.

Thanks for the info.

However, I already had the Plasti-Dip, and the labor was free, so this didn't cost me anything, other than my time, which seeing as how I'm currently unemployed, I have some extra of.

EDIT: Just checked out Starkey's web site and the only badges they have are for the 3.7 ......

Late model restoration has them in stock at the same price.

Parts cheap just marked down the black grille pony to 43. Usually 63.

For the grille pony I'm actually contemplating getting one of these covers ... only $20 and gives me the look that I'm after ... flat-black pony.

Sticks on with double-sided tape.

Lol, thanks guys for the ideas, but I'm stopping here for now.

I just tried to remove the pressure washers that hold the chrome pony on the front grille, and I wasn't all that successful, decided to leave it installed and get the eBay cover, which sticks on onto the chrome pony, and will give me the look I want for $20

If anybody wants to buy the 5.0 badges painted black with the red dot, I just found them for $22.55 each, here:

http://www.cjponyparts.com/fender-em...black/p/EMF11/

For what it cost me, I'm still glad I went the route I did, but if I decide to change, at least now I finally now that they ARE available pre-painted black

How were you able to take out the dot in the middle? I tried this with the faux gas cap but it pulled the entire tri bar and horse plastidip off.

I used a blade to carefully cut around the edges, then gently picked at it with the corner of the blade to lift up the piece covering the red

And yeah, I thought about using the same technique for the faux gas cap, but don't think it's gonna work or that I'll be able to do it, so I'm not gonna bother ... I plan on replacing that whole rear deck panel soon ... lol
