I have a 12 gt. I was wondering if anyone found a paint that matches the grey on the valve covers. I have been looking but haven't found anything. I want to paint some of the other engine bay plastics the same color as an accent.

Any ideas are appreciated.

 

just painted mine... removed the part took it to the local paint shop.. they charged 40$.

 

Are you in California? If so? Which shop. That looks good.

 

Did mine myself with Ford Blue High Temp engine paint. Got the coyote inserts off eBay:

I would paint the covers along with whatever else you are looking to paint.
That way you're guaranteed to have them match.

Personally, I have my Boss302 blue covers on the car now and the stock gray ones in the house, I want to paint the gray ones, then insert the EmblemPros lettering (same lettering shiazv@gmail.com has on his covers, see above ^^ ), then clear the whole cover with the lettering on, hoping that the clear will make the lettering and the cover one piece for easier cleaning

Dumb question. Did you have to remove the strut bar to take off the engine cover? By the way, that looks really good!

 

Don't know about him but I know that *I* had to do that recently when I removed my engine cover.
There's no room under the strut tower brace otherwise ...

Easy enough to do though ... just need a deep 13mm socket and wrench

Not a dumb question, and no, it won't, you can even drive the car just fine without the brace, as long as you reinstall the nuts

There are Mustangs out there sold without the brace
