Opinions on Craigs Custom Mustang Brackets

ccmustangbrackets.com

Got pulled over once for "no front plate" so I found this site, no drills, no ugly ford's holder to add 5 inches on the bumper. wondering if anyone got one of these and what you think? will the wing nuts get lose over time?

My stang is a 2012 GT bone stock bumper..heres the video made by his distributor JLT

I have one of these from my first car. It worked great and looked great as well. My replacement car was already drilled so I don't use it. Will make you a heck of a deal if you want it.

I have one on my '13 GT500 and it is definitely worth it.

I wouldn't hesitate to tell anyone to get one.

Edit: in the instructions he says if you want you can replace wing nuts with regular nuts and gives the correct size.

I left wing nuts on mine so I can remove it easily.

So glad I live where I do. No front plate required. No emissions testing. And my uncle does my inspections so everything else is not noticed. Lol

I don't live in a front plate state, but if I did I would go with this. The guy that made these is a Mustang enthusiast just like us. Way better option than mounting it, and can be removed for shows and stuff.

I have had one for my 2010 (same bumper as your 2012) for over 3 years with no issues. Excellent product!

The only reason I replaced was because of the moron in the f-150 4x4 who tried to use an intersection whilst I was already in it! Lol. I sent you some info.

They make them for the 13's. I just got mine in the mail from JLT. I didn't know that I could have gotten it from him directly until the instructions were pulled out with someone else on the logo. It's gonna work out great when I get to put it on my car. I got one because I just put new stripes on my car and didn't need a front plate in SC. I'm in Germany and need one and didn't want to poke holes in my new stuff.

In the link posted above I got the one that's on the left and has the extra bend and the bar on the bottom. Same price I paid.

The video in post #10 did it for me. I can live with that and it's easy to do and leaves the front end looking as clean as possible without leaving the plate off.

I'm not a fan of zip tying the bracket to the lower grill for a couple different reasons.

One- The bracket is going to be bouncing around on the paint that it's touching on the underside of the bumper and the front side of the lower opening.

Two- The zip tie will eventually dry out, crack, and then you just lost your front plate and it could do some damage to your car when it bounces under it when falling off.

Three - The airflow is blocked off by 1/3 of the opening when it's sitting there on the grill.

Four - Everyone knows it doesn't go there and looks like you ghetto rigged it up. Which is exactly what the zip tie fix is, a ghetto rig.

I don't like using a front plate either, I have these custom brackets and I think they're ok but I really don't use it unless I really NEED to... I just keep it in my trunk just in case I can get out of a ticket, I probably used it only a month of me having my car... Looks 100% better w/o it I don't really care if its illegal or not :-p if the cop is decent he'll understand

I didn't want holes in the front bumper of my S2000, so I zip tied my front plate to my grill. If it is zipped snug, it won't bounce around. The zip ties have not dried out, etc. I've never had overheating problems, and the car has been in 100 degree weather and on the track an in several autocross meets. Most people who have seen it preferred it to having the plate mounted on the bumper. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but in the end it is my car and the only one who has to be happy with it is me.
The brackets that were the original subject of this thread do allow you to avoid having holes in the bumper, but the plate is still mounted in the same place more or less. I think it detracts more from the look of the car, but that is just MY opinion.
I almost forgot to mention that the way this installation is done the license plate covers the zip ties so you can't see them. It could just as easily be bolted on and you would not know. I guess that would make it NOT a ghetto rig.
