I ordered some new Hood struts, and when I was installing them, I noticed that the passenger side is backwards from what I ordered....If any of you have them, what does your passenger side look like?

Can't you just switch them around and they will be the correct way?

 

It's not a matter of switching. The brackets are actually different in the 2 pictures. One has the "R" close to the angled end and the other has the "R" closer to the flat end. But since it's a cutout it's only going to read correctly from one side of the bracket.

 

Exactly...these fit only one way....I was surprised that there is a difference in a quality controled environment such as Roush...?

 

Looks like someone had a good weekend that works in the plant.

 

Did you contact Roush to see if this is the case? Maybe they shipped two lefts, or two rights?

 

In the second picture it sure looks like the "R" is on the angled end on both brackets. Must be getting late in the day

 

The second picture is the correct instal.

 

Sorry, flipped it. Should've been stated the other way around. The 1st picture the "R" is at the flat end and angled downward.

 

The first one is correct as well. Lol

 

Seriously, there's an instal video on the web. Just search 2010 mustang roush hood strut instructions.

 

It is not install issue, apparently roush changed them mid-run sometime last year and there are some that are faced one direction and the newer ones are faced backwards. Awesome.

 

Gotcha. That's careless on their end.
