New 2013 GT owner hood scoop questions

New to the forum, 1st post. I bought a new '13 base GT last Monday and am looking to persoanlize it to make it my own.

Has anyone installed the new Rousch hood scoop for the 2013 Mustang? Are there any other bolt on hood scoops for the '13 Mustang?

Thanks
Steve

Thanks for the ebay tip.

I was hoping American Muscle would have one since they offer parts prepainted. But there is nothing on their site.

Am now thinking about the Cervini Type 4 Ram Air hood for the '13-'14 cars along with their other retro "Shelby" add-ons. I sent them an email asking if they would give me a discounted package deal on the hood, Stalker rear spoiler, C Series 1/4 window and body scoops.

I think there are a lot of ways to persoanlize a vehicle, but I always wonder why. What, exactly, is wrong with the base GT as it comes out of the showroom? I think that if the changes aren't correcting something, they are likely not to be improvements.

That blue car with the wide scoop really looks awkward to me: the original warm air bleeds are at a slight angle to the center line and the scoop is square, so to speak. It looks like an afterthought, and that's the problem with most of the tack-on stuff out there. Even the well-known and quality fabricators can't seem to do a very good job on design. Pity, but there it is.

Someone who really, really wants a distinctive car might start with a full paint job, in a color not even close to any the factory ever offered. I'd love to see a modern mustang in a dark metallic brown, or a pearl white.

Otherwise, most of the "personalization" I've seen (and done) is pretty much routine, and it won't be long before just about every option will be common. Where's the personalization in that?

Because we can and it is fun.

A prepainted Cervini Type 4 hood will look good, and is a easier/cheaper option than an entire vehicle repaint. I can't even hazard a guess as to how much a full vehicle paint job would cost.

I'm 55, I grew up with the late 60's early 70's cars and have had one all of my adult life. All the muscle cars from that era had a special hood of some sort, Shelby Mustang, Mach 1, 442, GTO, GS Buick, Chevelles and Camaros, AMX and Hurst SC/Rambler, and all the various MOPAR hoods. I like that look even on a modern car so I want to bring the 60's Shelby look to my new Mustang.

To each his own though, it's whatever you like.

There are so many parts available that each stang can match an owner's tastes and be a little different without having to spend your life's savings to do so. Wheres the personalization in everyone leaving their rides stock?

I ordered the Type 4 Ram Air hood and side scoops prepainted from Cervini and have an Eibach Pro Kit, SPC adjustable panhard bar and camber bolts coming from Summit. Next I think I'll get the GT500 rear spoiler and 1/4 window MMD Eleanor scoops from American Muscle and other than a set of Daytona stripes that should do it for my car.

Anyone have any comments on the quality of the paint from Cervini or condition of the parts recieved?

I've Heard of people having problems with Cervinis ram air hood when it rains. Something to do with water coming in through the scoops and getting everything under the hood nasty. Apparently they don't have the ram air kit for it yet.

Yeah, I wondered about that. My GT isn't a daily driver so I hope to keep it out of bad weather, but you never know.

Awesome. Looking forwaqrd to seeing this hood mounted up on your car. I have always ondered about the quality of their prepainted parts and in what condition they will arrive. Post pics please. Personally I am waiting for a 2013 version of the Mach One hood, but i dont expect to see that any time soon based on the phone call I had with a represenative from Cervini.

I would think any hood with any type of opening be it extractors or intake scoops will allow for some sort of water intrusion into the engine compartment. How much remains to be seen.

When Cervini has the ram air kit available for the hood I might have to get it just to keep the engine compartment clean.
