So I was referred to a local guy who does body work for the 35% tint and over the top stripe (matte black) for my '11 stang. He tells me the stripe kit is installed and warranted by him for 6 years for 500 bucks (and another 180 for the tint). He claims to be using Endura vinyl, which sells for 270 here

I have no problem with paying for the tint. I say leave that to the pros. But I have seen some video of the stripe installs, and looks to be fairly easy. I have auto body experience, years ago, but never done this . So he is basically marking up the kit 100 bucks, then hitting me for 2 hours of labor. I guess my question is, has anyone done this kit at home and had good results? I would love to save some $$$ to put into my exhaust. If so, what tools did you need for any trimming that I might need? Also, has anyone got pictures of any colors other than matte black for this type of stripe? I am open to trying something a little more unique as well. Silver, blue and red are my backup possibilities. Already scoured Google Images. Thanks guys and gals.

I did some vinyl work on my old car and simply dont have the patience to get it right. Kept coming out with bubbles and I couldnt get the stripes to come out perfectly straight. I also figure if the vinyl guy messes it up then he is buying more material not me.

And keep that green rusty Jet Ranger of yours out of my airspace!

Don't worry bud, I spend 95% of my flight time in Class G! If I'm not dodging trees and power lines, I'm not doing my job! She is a bit rusty though, I was really hoping the ARH program was gonna happen, oh well, she's been good to me...thanks for the input!
