My first mod, green hash marks
As Bill pointed out, the older car enthusiasts will associate the hash marks with those on the Corvette GrandSport. Younger enthusiasts will remember them from the revive of the Corvette. It wasn't until a couple of years ago that they became wildly popular and everyone started putting them on ANY form of car.
I do agree the angle is off cause they're too straight but that green really does pop off the black and make them noticeable. Digging the color choice.

I think he means: People aesthetically view vehicles horizontally and from left to right or vice versa. In particular, the main styling cue of Mustangs is the " L" shaped door line or indention. Since birth of the car, it's the most recognizable and unique feature to the car. Even though this body line has a slight vertical angle, the main focal point is the horizontal line that defines the overall body. The rest of the styling cues are indeed contingent upon complementing this implied line. This visually and consciously unifies the symmetry of the overall aesthetic totality of the vehicle. That being said, in order to retain the appearance of unified or implied lines, then any additional lines that are introduced should be horizontal as well. ( example: GT CS or traditional rocker panel stripe)
In essence, the vertical dash marks, (even visually stronger in parallels) are simply competing as a dominant object. the color, analogous or not, was never in question.

They're FIA stripes and they were used in the 60's to identify car teams (most of the time, cars from a given manufacturer were all painted the same color), and even cars within multi-car teams during a race.
They're not "hash marks" (calling them "hash marks" makes it sound like you soiled your skivvies).
IMHO, yours are a bit too close together.

Laserred thanks, saw a running horse for the from in green thinking about that, also some green under the hood and interior. Don't wanna do too much. Also the dot in the 5.0 on the fendors maybe red to green.
I like them. I'm thinking about getting the rally stripes painted on in GHIG. I am a Seahawks fan so that would be pretty close to their colors without being too obvious because it's a Ford color.
Not a color combo i would have picked, but if i were to see you going down the road i would definitely tell my wife to check out the great looking mustang. That said if you decide to keep them PAINT is the way to go.
