My first mod, green hash marks

Cost me $20 about and hour for install. So far I like them, makes the car standout from other black 5.0. Can't let the wife with her black MCA take all the attention.

I used to see them on the special addition Corvettes. Isn't it supposed to identify a certain race sanction?

It seems I recall a Corvette that came with these from the factory a few years back. It was one of their typical special editions (to make it a collector and get thousands more for it).

Those stripes, and only on one fender, were originated on Mid-60's Corvette Grand Sports.
They later came back and were offered again in 1994 on the Corvette. Painted a special Admiral Blue with Torch Red hash marks. That car also had a GM LT4 V8 producing an extra 30H.P. over the standard LT1 engines 300H.P., as well as ZR1 sized 315's in the rear end with the standard "narrow body" Corvette bodywork, along with gloss black 5,spoke wheels.( Remember, ZR1's at the time, their bodywork flared out starting at the middle of the doors and went back from there ).
There are still Grand Sport Corvettes produced today, but the stripes are purely a clients option, not quite as special as what was done in 1994.

All of that being said.......it's not that I dislike seeing the hash marks on Mustang fenders, it's just that is way too derivative for my tastes.
In other words, Its Not " Keepin' It Real."

Everyone must do what they feel is right, of course.-------Bill

Would have rather seen those stripes in the Shelby format bumper to bumper in that color.. The color selection is hawt if I do say so. Does not look bad, I have seen these type of stripes on BMW and on Mopar cars.

You did a great job of Symmetrically aligning the stripes on both sides. I go crazy if they weren't exact. Beautiful car btw.

The current Corvette Grand Sports come with them. Doesn't look too bad on the 5.0.

I like the stripes and color choice for your car but don't like the angle, to straight I think. You should have place them closer to a 45 degree angle.

Car looks great, not sure how I feel about the stripes at this point in time. I think I agree with the angle comment by newpony.

I'm not sure what I think about them, it's good to have a little offset to solid cars with some accents, green is of course a great color Glad you're happy with them, don't worry what anybody else says here, if you like it, you think it rocks, then that's all that counts.

I would agree, except for the fact that it looks like that car is trying to identify itself with mopar. Have you noticed their logo lately? Too much like a dodge marker to me. I think the OP has the right idea on the stripes. Color, not so much, but that's JMO.

Thanks for all comments. Appreciate all the good stuff, and like everyone said if I like it I like it.

As far as it being similar to being like the challenger and the vette is that those stripes were started by race teams I believe and not the company. And the stripes actually were meant to differentiate the cars, so that's why I'm using them.
