LED fog light bulbs?

Anyone running a set of LED fog lamps on a '10-12 GT with grille mounted fogs and the OEM HID lamps? I'm currently running the Hoen Xenonmatch bulbs in my fog lamps, but have given some thought to running an LED bulb instead.

These are the set I'm looking at:

The goal is something close to the OEM fogs on a '13-14.

Steve... I've been running my led fogs for over a year now. They're 6000k. I used to have the hoen ones as well. I love the look. I don't remember if mine were vleds tho.... Hmmm

Thanks for the pictures. They look good, just a tad blue compared to the low beams and switchbacks.

Correct. It's because they're 6000k. I purposely chose them for the fogs

You could go with 5000k tho... Should be a closer match.

Yeah, I figured as much. How's the light output compared to the HIDs? Do they overpower the low beams or compliment them well?

The light output with LEDs is no-where near as solid as HID's

They are intended primarily for cosmetic purposes.

If you need help finding a good match, shoot me a PM and I'll help you out!

Thanks,
Nick C.

This. I tried some higher end LEDs in my fogs on my 03. I went back to yellow halogen. The HIDs in the fogs didn't work for me, because my car has a relay that flashes the fogs when the alarm is armed/disarmed, so it was causing the ballasts to go out. The LEDs were the right color, but had almost zero discernible light output from the driver's seat.

Steve, the light output does not compare to the HIDs (I did upgrade mine to 5000k). I got them purely for cosmetic purposes. Although, the LEDs still put out decent light. I got them either from jdm toy or vleds .... And yes it compliments the HIDs nicely

Good. Sounds like the LED option makes sense then. What about heat from the bulbs? Any known issues there?

Much less heat, since they're LEDs. No issues whatsoever.

Not always the case. Sometimes you'll find massive heatsinks on LED bulbs to generate the light. See the OEM LED fogs for a good example.

Steve, have you considered adding the lower fascia projector fogs? with a HID kit they actually do the job.
