Question Installing a Grille?

I wanted to get the Roush 2013 Performance Upper Grille:
http://www.roushperformance.com/part...sh-Grille.html

However I just watched the installation video that Roush uploaded yesterday and they show taking off the entire front bumper cover and getting underneath the car to remove screws and whatnot. Now I don't think I'd be able to reach or get to under the car, and I don't have jacks that could raise it like that (plus I don't trust myself underneath a car with jacks because with my luck the car would fall on me lol).

Here's the video:

So i was wondering if anyone else has installed a grille, or if there is alternative installation method on getting access to removing the old grille and installing a new one that doesn't require getting underneath the car.

Thanks!

Just installed the roush upper grille on my 13'. My car is lowered with eibach pro springs and i was still able to get all the screws without using a lift. I didnt need to remove the rear screws that hold the underbody shroud on, just the screws along the perimeter. It was very easy to do, and took me less than an hour.

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. I was thinking about not getting it because of installation, but now that I know I don't need to lift the car that helps a bunch. I really appreciate

Ironically this discussion is already going on (I have a thread about it) word is that removal isn't unnecessary. You can literally just yank the old one off with a firm tug.

I will try and get a pic tomorrow. You may be able to remove the factory grill with a firm tug, but you will not be able to reinstall the roush grill without access to the rear. The grill is held in place by clips that need to be installed from behind, so if going roush route you need to remove the bumper. Honestly it may seem intimidating but these bumpers are very simple to remove, it will probably only take a few minutes to remove it.

I have my new California special grille sitting here on my bed. I now understand why it's a simple tug and swap.

Yeah, this thread has been going for 4 days now. By now you could've easily pulled the bumper and done the swap

Haha, yeah I'm definitely going to do it by taking the bumper off, it has to be done correctly, especially with the Roush one. But I didn't order one yet I want to wait a bit longer to see if any other grilles get released (I doubt it).

Maybe with the California Special Grille you don't need to take the bumper off but I don't know if I can get away with that with the Roush one.

How so? The price at a dealership is within $10 o vs partscheap. Trust me, I did the research. The pricing is approximately 10% over actual dealership cost.

What did you pay at parts cheap plus shipping?

Upper grille was $319 shipped, lower is $290ish.

Prices the dealership quoted me:
2013 California Special Upper Grille $305.38
2013 California Special Lower Grille $274.73

Shipping cost more for me since I had budgeted everything in pieces instead all up front.
