Installing 3d carbon spoiler

Who here has actually installed it themselves? I have a few questions.

1. Do you put the 2 sided tape along 1 edge or along all 4 edges like a circle around the whole base?

2. Before paint should I put masking tape on where the 2 sided tape will eventually go. Or do I not worry about this and paint it all. Just wondering if the 2 sided tape will stick better to primed or painted surface?

Any tips or ideas will go a long way.

Thanks

It is probably up to you. When you get the spoiler painted from 3dcarbon, the area where the 3M tape is has also been painted, and they just stick it right on top of the paint.

If you feel like messing around with masking the area off, go for it. If not, don't sweat it.

Question

OK, to me these look like the GT500 rear spoilers. What are the key differences?

I believe they are meant to be replicas.

The OEM GT500 spoiler has a separate Gurney flap while the 3D is painted on. Go with OEM.

I experienced 3dCarbon quality on my 2005 GT, which is why I went with an OE GT500 spoiler on my 2008 SGT and OE pedestal spoiler on our 2011 MCA edition.

Below is a link to a thread that I started in 2006, that explains the problems I had with a 3dCarbon spolier on my 2005 GT.
