I took the bumper cover and tail lights out the same way when I swapped the valance on my wife's 2011 a year ago. It really doesn't take much to remove the cover and tail lights, and it makes the swap so much easier! ..especially if you want to avoid destroying any of the attaching tabs on the old valance.

Looks good. If I'm not mistaken, I think the Boss302 & Shelby GT500 use the same piece. It's nicer than the base GTs, IMO. Good job.

Noooo, the 5.0 valence looks so much cooler!

You now need a bigger exhaust to fill up the exhaust ports of the CS/BS valence.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I figure pulling the whole cover and then separating the valance would be much easier to do away from the car. Plus I wanted to save my stocker for a buddy, she's got the '10 V6 and she's gonna add dual exhaust. I'd say it took me about 30min to remove the bumper cover and an hour to separate the valance from the cover(I had hell releasing the tabs near the license plate mounting point) and then another 30min to reassemble. The think what I love the most about this upgrade is, not too many people have noticed the change. A few mustang friend noticed right off the bat but just about everyone else was clueless. I definitely need an bigger exhaust!

you have to take the whole thing off, that's actually the easy part, takes only a few minutes, separating the valance from it once it's off is a pain..
looks good

It took me maybe 45 min. just to release those tabs near the license without hurting them or myself. ..but the result was worth it! Again, this was my wife's pony, and I added the pedestal spoiler and Magnaflow Street Series axleback at the same time.

before..

after..

Dang, I guess I shoulda mentioned that my friend decided not to go the Dual Pollution route, so I've still got my stock GT valance if anyone wants to get it off me.

The GT500 mufflers fill it real good.

I got my rear valance today and put it on tonight. I left the rear bumper cover installed. Once I loosened the bumper cover at the wheel openings I was able to pull it back to undo the screws and push pins holding the original valance. After getting those loose on both sides I was able to pull the entire valance off in just a few seconds (not 45 minutes as some have experienced). All you do is pull and the tabs snap right out of the slots. You cannot get this kind of leverage if you remove the bumper cover and try to do it. Nothing is damaged and nothing is broken.

Anyway the 2011 GT valance looks nice. Now I have to complete my dual exhaust project.
