I guess my first question is, do the louvers and side scoops come installed and painted from the factory? How does it work if you order your 'stang with those 2 options?

If you ordered them as a option on the car they come installed already

And they use Velcro from the factory, right?

On the Ford website, when you build and price, it has a disclaimer that says: "dealer accessories do not include paint or installation pricing"--What's this all about? Each louver/scoop is $113. Do the dealers jack up the prices on these items?

I would wait and do this mod yourself because:

Dealer racks up price point

You Get to choose your body man (most likely better paint job than ford)

You need to drive your car around without the louvers and note the quarter window usage and your driving style.

Get to know your cars body lines, aesthetically, you may not need the scoops. Consider them with future mods.

You may want some other style scoops and louvers other than vanilla oem. (respectfully)

They would fly off your car with Velcro. Body parts from the factory are typically attached with double-sided automotive tape (and screws, depending on the part and location point on the body).

This I can understand. I misread the original poster's question. I still would love to see a photo of the heavy-duty Velcro on the louvers though!

All great points to take into consideration. Thanks for your 2 cents. I think I'm just going to hold off.

I would take a pic if I still had them. But it's not a normal cloth Velcro its a hard core plastic velcro. When I decided to take them off I figured they where held on with some sort of bracket. So I pulled on them a bit to try and see behind them and them just pulled off.
