Question the "which hood scoop is better" poll!

Hi everyone -- long time member who mostly just lurks! lol.

Considering buying a hood scoop -- I know there is a rather loud opinion on the forums debating whether or not fake hood scoops are cool or lame...but this poll doesn't have a "lame" option. It merely asks: Which of these two scoops is superior! Post your reasoning for which you think is better

Option 1 - http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...coop-1011.html

Option 2 - http://www.americanmuscle.com/mmd-pa...coop-1012.html

Yes, many times actually...but the kit is like 3x the price. Idk, they're super nice though!

Shaker or nothing at all! I hate how fake they look on the 10-14. I kind of like the factory side scoops though.

I love the first one. The second one is too small and looks too stuck on.

real deal or nothing. adding a fake scoop has always seemed silly.

for $300 or so you can get a go fast part.

I know it's more expensive but either a shaker scoop or a new ram air hood is going to look a lot better than either of those two scoops.

I wouldn't use any of these. It would be better of you saved up and got something suitable, or just leave it as it is. The scoops pictured are horrible IMO.

OP,

Personally, I like the Ford styled hood for the 10-12 Mustangs. However, I've seen a few very clean MMD hood scoops installed on some good looking Mustangs. I guess it depends more on what your other exterior mods are. Either isn't a bad option!

The first 1, the big wide 1 is the only way to go.

I'd say get a new hood and sell your stock one on eBay or Craigslist. It probably won't cost you that much if you sell your hood for a good price.

All very helpful comments.

05GTJOSH: I don't know if I would be able to part ways with my stock hood if I replaced it. I still have the stock wheels from my 2005 GT in my shed...and they've been there for 8 years, LOL.

If you are going to get a hood scoop your going to be drilling into the hood anyway. So you won't be able to get the stock look back anyway.
