Gt500 quad exhaust w/ valence

I wanted to get the forums thoughts on this set up. I love the look of it but at $850, I don't know if I can justify buying it for sound alone. I'm also considering the roush axleback.

Does anybody have either of these or know a place that maybe sells the quad exhaust for a little less than the $850. Thanks in advance!

My first set of axlebacks were the Roush. I should also mention I own a 3.7 V6. They were obnoxious loud! I bought them from a Mustang owner who had a convertable, and he said they were too loud for him with the top down, so I figured it could not be too bad for a coupe. Wrong! They have a great idle, but when you even moderately accelerate, they are loud. Stomp the pedal, and its as if there is no muffler at all. I had them off my Mustang after 20 minutes, with the stock ones back on.

I went to a couple of local weekend shows, and heard a set of GT500's on a V6 (not quads though); the owner took me for a ride, and the sound was what I was looking for. Great idle, great cruising sound (no drone), and when you stomp the right drive by wire pedal, it makes a great sound, but not "cop attention getting". For me, this is what I was after. And the price was great, as I found a set here on this forum for a couple hundred bucks.
Maybe the Roush are not so obnoxious loud on the V8's but I'd think they would be just the same. Some like this. I like to be able to listen to my radio, and not worry about attracting the wrong type of attention.

I agree... the Roush screams if you put your foot in it. And it's plenty loud in the garage at morning startup.

I've heard the Roush on youtube and they don't sound loud at all.

Granted, I'm used to motorcycles and I love drag pipes.

The 2013 quad tip setup also comes with the new rear valence. Still not cheap though at $850. I am going to try the Boss 302 side exit H-pipe with the stock axle backs for starters. I can tune the side exit with the baffles. If the wide-open side exit isn't enough I will consider the GT500 quad tips as well - they look fantastic.

I have the roush's on my gt and I love them. They are loud on cold starts but if you're cruising they're not bad. When you floor it they will get loud. It all depends on what you're looking for.

you ever modded a car before? $850 for vehicle-specific mufflers AND an OEM body piece? If I had a 2013 it would have been already in the trunk on the way to install.

Anyone notice I posted the individual part numbers, and the prices and where you can get it all and save $218.54?

Just want to make sure someone saw that to save money.

I saw it. You did a perfect job of leading folks to the water. Can't make them drink though I guess.

Magnaflow also makes their Competition Series Axleback in the quad tip for the 5.0. I have them on my 2012. Not much more than the GT500 mufflers.

Anyone have borlas axlebacks on a convertible, I'm debating between gt500 and the s-types. Would the borla be too loud for the convertible
